MADISON ELISE

Hello Friends and Supporters of the Miss Gay Missouri pageant. Welcome to our official website!

The Miss Gay Missouri pageant will be celebrating our 39th year in 2012. We are proud to boast that we are the second oldest preliminary to Miss Gay America and have cultivated a rich history of former Miss Gay Missourians and former Miss Gay Americas.

I would like to thank each member of the MGM Alumni Board for taking on such an important role. Producing an event of this magnitude is not an easy task. Vanessa Vincent (Daniel), Dieta Pepsi (Leon), Loretta Martin (JL), Lexsus Chaney (Emilio), Atheena Voce’ (Jeff), and Jade Sinclair (Michael) did an outstanding job. I know that all will continue to be an asset to the heritage of Miss Gay Missouri. I am very happy to join this sisterhood of fantastic individuals.

Just as it is important to recognize our present, I would like to thank the past Miss Gay Missouri promoters. Without their passion and dedication, we could not be where we are today. Thanks to Joie DiMercurio and Reba Lamkey-Knabe; Chuck Atteberry and Daniel Flier; the Miss Gay Missouri Alumni Committee; Sex, Inc. (Mike, Dean and Chuck); Donna Drag (Don Davis); and Lana Kuntz (Ron Davis). I would be remiss if I did not thank all of the former MGMA’s for their service and legacy, as well. Without all of these folks, we would not have the legacy of excellence that we appreciate today.

On a personal note, my given name is Tyler Hill, though many of you know me by my stage name, Madison Elise. I grew up just outside of St. Louis where I lived a majority of my life. After coming out of the closet, I quickly was drawn to the art of female impersonation. I started performing at Faces on 4th Street as part of the amateur drag competition and won many of them. I was drafted to the cast of the Diamond Dolls after just a few months by the late Petrina Marie. After a whirlwind year of four performances per week, I was offered my first host/show director position – which made me the youngest show director in the state. The show was successful, though the bar was short lived. After the bar closed, I decided that pageantry was my next goal and so began my six year journey to become Miss Gay Missouri, America. I was second alternate in 2005 and first alternate in 2006 and 2007. I then decided to take a break from competition and head to school to become a licensed cosmetologist, start a career, become president of an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization and meet my wonderful partner. It was after all of this, that I knew I was ready to come back to Miss Gay Missouri.

Though I knew I was ready to come back, I could not have won without some very supportive and wonderful people. First, I would like to thank the promoters of the Miss Gay Metropolitan pageant – Daniel, Zane, Duane and Albert. A super special thanks to Zane who also doubled as my dresser, driver, assistant, and errand runner the entire weekend. I am forever grateful for your help and belief in me. I would also like to thank two of the best back up dancers ever – Alan and Saxon. The three of us performed together for the first time at Miss Gay Missouri 2005 and won overall talent. I am happy to say that we did it again in 2011! I would also like to thank Candy James, Jade Sinclair, Michelle McCaulsand, Tumara Mahorning, Trixie LaRue, Sasha Nicole and Vicki Vincent for all of their help and support

I would also like to take a moment to recognize an outstanding individual – Miss Gay Metropolitan and first alternate to Miss Gay Missouri 2011, Tajma Stetson. Tajma, you are an amazing, talented and beautiful entertainer. Your wit and sense of humor are second to none. I look forward to representing Missouri with you at Miss Gay America.

In closing, I want to remind everyone that you can never start too early to prepare for Miss Gay Missouri 2012. I recommend to last year’s contestants that plan on coming back to act now while the judge’s critiques are fresh in your mind. Set your goals early and form a plan to achieve them. To any first time contestants – welcome! Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in your new journey. To past contestants that have taken some time to pursue other interests and goals, maybe now is the time to come back and join us. We, the MGM Alumni Board, have some exciting things in store for everyone! Please check this website or the Miss Gay Missouri Facebook group for updates and upcoming preliminaries to Miss Gay Missouri 2012.

Thank you everyone. I look forward to a fantastic year meeting new friends and catching up with friends I have not seen in a while as I travel our state.
